2026
Northern Secwépemc Cultural centre
In collaboration with D.Jensen & Associates, Jennifer connected with Stswecem’c/Xget’tem and Esk’etemc members to help them develop a “Story House” where their culture and language is strengthened and celebrated. We were invited to consult with Elders in person who appreciated our use of proper protocols to show respect and gratitude. An Indigenous perspective was paramount, so quotations, personal stories, and decolonized language permeated the content.
2015
Richmond Olympic Experience
Inspired by the 2010 Winter Olympics, the ROE celebrates Canadian athletes and the human spirit. This ambitious Olympic Museum Network project pushed the limits of cultural spaces in both content and design. The integration of sport simulators, computer interactives, artifact displays, and a digital tour app meant the content had to adapt to a wide range of media and visitor types. Jennifer worked with lead firm W3 Design through all project phases excluding Schematic.
2013
NATTILIK HERITAGE CENTRE
Surrounded by the stunning landscapes of the northern Arctic, this heritage centre in Gjoa Haven presents the history and culture of the Nattilik people and their experiences, past and present, with Franklin’s failed Northwest Passage expedition. In concert with the design team at D.Jensen & Associates, Jennifer worked with community members to create seamless storylines and bilingual exhibits featuring first-person quotes and the art and scuptures of the Nattilik people.
2006
NORTHWEST ARCTIC HERITAGE CENTER
Jennifer worked with exhibit designer Victor Chorobik to interpret the importance of subsistence culture for the Iñupiaq people in the Western Arctic of Alaska. Exhibits offer visitors insights into the area’s cultural and natural history, with a focus on how Arctic cultures are vitally linked to their territorial lands. At the same time, the poetic tone of the content helps visitors appreciate the duality of the immense beauty yet harsh climate of the Arctic.
